Utuh studio is the merging of two minds from two distinctly different backgrounds; it’s a union between the richness of Indonesian culture and the simplicity of Finnish & Nordic aesthetics.
Utuh in Indonesian means whole or complete and in Finnish Utu is a type of atmospheric haze or mist visible in the early hours of the morning.
We at Utuh studio are passionate about visual storytelling – a directorial duo of moving and still images, Lotta and Brahmma. Narrative at heart, the Utuh studio approach is to craft your story and vision alive through the recognizable visuals we are eager to create.
In our work, we love to play with the tender balance between stillness and movement, magical and real, modern and ancient. Our guiding principles are meaningful interactions, transparent messaging, and substance over profit. We believe that this is the only way to create a long-lasting and honest connection.
Ever since meeting each other in Los Angeles in 2017, Brahmma and Lotta have been working side by side, with Brahmma specializing in film directing and creative producing and Lotta photography and art direction. This led to the creation of Utuh studio in 2021. We are a Jakarta- and Helsinki based production and creative studio for film and photography.
