The Myth of Dewa (Alkisah Si Dewa) is a proof of concept magical-realistic short about a timid 10 year old Indonesian boy who escapes home and visits a shaman to find his missing brother. Even with the shaman’s help, he still has to remain calm in the face of fear to clearly locate his brother. It is a tale of a child’s inner struggle to find stability in the face of generational trauma. A struggle to find home outside of home.
